Expressive Landscapes with INES GRADOT - Riso Printing Workshop

Join us for a Multi-Colour, Analogue → Digital Riso Session!
Spend your Saturday exploring risography through the lens of printmaker Ines Gradot, known for her richly layered, inky illustrations.
We'll begin the morning crafting analogue compositions using a suite of Ines' favourite markers, papers, and materials. This session introduces participants to her signature mark-making techniques, offering insight into her process of transforming colour and texture into expressive, multi-layered Riso prints.
After lunch, we’ll digitise each participant's unique design by scanning and preparing them for digital colour separation in Adobe. No experience is necessary—we’ll guide you through separating these artwork into four colour channels and further experiment with the infinite ink combinations available to transform these into Riso prints.
Together, we’ll print the artworks in a vibrant colour palette, culminating in a collection of prints inspired by landscapes and abstract composition.
All materials will be provided, and no computers or riso experience required.
You’ll leave with a stack of prints to share, sell, or swap!
Spaces are limited to 8 participants, so book early to secure your spot!

More About Ines Gradot:
Ines Gradot is a Glasgow-based illustrator and print technician at RISOTTO HQ. Her painterly artworks are inspired by travel, micro-moments, and atmospheric landscapes, often using alcohol-based markers on absorbent paper to create unique, layered compositions.
She is a member of Riso Sur Mer, an international print collective exploring collaborative Risograph techniques, and has worked on a variety of independent publishing projects, to commissions from notable brands like Hermès.

CMYK Postcards - Riso Printing Workshop
£49.00
Come learn at our studio, and master the basics of CMYK / Full-Colour Printing!
During the session, we'll teach you how to convert any digital artwork into a vibrant four-colour risograph edition; using Cyan (Aqua), Magenta (Fluro Pink), Yellow and Black.
We'll experiment with channels in Adobe Photoshop, and walk you through the essential steps to transform these layers into ink stencils, for print on our riso machines.
This training session will cover the technical nuances of risography, our top tips for preparing digital art and the best practices for file set-up. Plus we'll get our hands inky prodcuing your unique creations, testing different papers to see how this too can play a part in enhancing your work.
Participants will leave with 50 x A6 Postcards, on assorted (re-cycled) card stocks (worth over £100 if we printed these through our service for you!). You'll also take home a bundle of colourful goodies from new friends, and from us.
Whether you're a graphic designer, artist, or general enthusiast; this workshop is the perfect ticket for those ready to elevate their technical skills and outputs. Previous Riso knowledge is never essential with us :)
